Customer Service Week is an event marked in the first week of October each year by public and private institutions around the world.

Although the has been celebrated as at about 1987, but was formally adopted in the United States in 1992 when the U.S Congress declared customer service as a nationally celebrated event and has gradually been adopted across the globe as an international event.

The main purpose of the annual observance is to celebrate the importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis.

Since customers are a core essential part of any business or organization or institutions, the week-long celebration is an opportunity for organizations to reassess their performance in terms of customer service delivery and the positive or negative impact on their overall operations.
